About Laurel Sankowski
Laurel Sankowski is a recent Art (emphasis in Graphic Design) and Film & Digital Media college graduate based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
From a young age, she has been passionate about three things: art, swimming, and reading. She has been a competitive swimmer since the age of 10 and was an All-American swimmer on her university swim team. Besides athletics, Laurel can be found with a book in hand or creating artwork. She decided to pursue both graphic design and film to satisfy her imaginative brain. Laurel hopes to use the discipline and passion she gained from athletics to guide her in the creative industry.

The History of "Everday"
Inspired by Greek mythology and the history of her own name, Laurel coined the name "Everday" to represent her artwork.
According to legend, the Greek god Apollo once fell in love with a wood nymph called Daphne. Unfortunately the love was one-sided and the nymph did all in her power to escape Apollo's advances. Daphne was so desperate for Apollo to leave her alone that her father intervened and turned her into a laurel tree. Apollo vowed to honor her forever and made the tree sprout evergreen leaves, a sign of honor and immortal youth.
The name "Everday" is derived from the two words "ever" and "day". The "ever" portion represents the evergreen leaves and the significance of the laurel tree. The "day" section is named after Apollo himself. While Apollo is said to be a god of many things, he is primarily known as being the god of the sun or "daytime". When the two words are put together, "Everday" represents the quality and timeless designs Laurel hopes to put out into the world each and every day.
